Adult Day Care

Located within Abilities Services, Inc. in Crawfordsville, Adult Day Care provides flexible, individualized services during the day.  Our program gives older adults an opportunity to make friends, take part in activities, and enjoy daily life in a safe and supportive environment – one that brings a greater sense of well-being to the participants as well as their family members!

Our Adult Day Care program offers a comprehensive array of activities, designed to meet the social and cognitive needs of adults. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided (special dietary requests available).

Activities include:

• Table Games
• Visiting theaters and museums
• Intergenerational programs
• Arts and crafts
• Entertainment – music, plays, etc.
• Community outings
• Group/Individual Exercise
• Shopping trips
• Dining at local restaurants
• Current Events
• Baking & Crafts
• Gardening (Seasonal)

Who needs Adult Day Care?

Those individuals who:

• Live with physical challenges
• Need assistance with personal care
• Desire social interaction and companionship
• Have memory loss
• Have suffered from: Stroke, Asthma, Diabetes, Heart Failure, etc. (but no longer require daily medical assistance)
• Need emotional support
• Need mental stimulation

Our Qualified Staff

Our dedicated and caring staff members are pre-screened individuals who have expertise in direct care.  Each Care Assistant has passed a criminal history check and drug screen, and is certified in Non-violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, CPR, CPI and Med-core A&B.

Funding & Licensure

We are funded through private pay participant fees, Medicaid Waiver reimbursement, United Way contributions, and donations/memorials from community members and businesses. We are licensed by the State Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) under the Aged, Disabled and Developmentally Disabled Medicaid Waivers. We have a level one Indiana licensure for Adult Day Services.

Adult Day Care is open Monday thru Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm.  Flexible drop-off and pick-up times are available. Transportation assistance is available through The Sunshine Van in Montgomery County.
